Mission]

To give parents time back in their day by delivering healthy, inclusive, plant-based food for their young children.

Values]

Inclusive

  • All children deserve healthy, balanced options that takes into account any food sensitivities - and we're going to make noise about this for others to follow
  • Our staff will reflect the diversity of our community and will be treated with integrity and opportunity

Thoughtful

  • We think carefully about the things that matter to parents and kids - like how the food looks and feels to how we package and deliver it.
  • We want our community to thrive, so we work with folks that are local and like-minded.

Real

  • Save the beakers and lab coats for science class. We use real ingredients that come from plants.
  • We know trust is important to parents so we take an open and transparent approach to our business.

Founder]

My name is Ryan McKee and I use the pronouns he and him.

I adopted a plant-based lifestyle in 2020 in response to my own personal health and environmental concerns, but also to better understand life with food restrictions.

I am loved, driven, challenged and supported by my wife, Elyssa and two magical daughters, Maya and Nieva.

For the first 17 years of my career, I led the rebrand of Vancouver Whitecaps FC ahead of its inaugural MLS season; helped repair the reputation of a 140-year old Australian Football Club tarnished by a major doping scandal; and delivered purposeful work for Mountain Equipment Co-op around topics such as gun control, diversity and sustainability.

Early in 2020, change was on the horizon. Maya was cruising through kindergarten while Neiva was celebrating her first trip around the sun. MEC were going through significant changes and it seemed that the work I tended to lead was being deprioritized. I was approaching completion of my Executive MBA at SFU and strongly considering taking a plunge into entrepreneurship, with a half-baked kids lunch business idea that I had crafted in class.

Then in early March, I was shown the door at MEC. I felt relieved to no longer be a 'dead man walking' through the office and I had an inkling that maybe this was the impetus I needed to venture out on my own.

I came home that day and told Maya that I no longer work at MEC - an office she loved visiting - and that they decided they didn’t need the role that daddy does anymore.

She thought about it for a few seconds and then her eyes lit up. “Does that mean you can be anything you want now?”

I smiled back and said, “Yes honey. Yes it does.”

I haven't looked back since.
